Current Enrollment

A NEW YEAR, NEW CHANGES:  We have a new Club President and Vice President as well as a new meeting location.  I will take over as Club President from Chris Maxon who finishes up his two years on August 31st.  Chris has set an example that will be hard to follow, but the club has benefited greatly from his leadership.  When you see Chris around, thank him for truly going above and beyond the call of duty as Club President.   Our membership roster grew almost 15% to 98 members, we raised over $6,500 for the Brigadier Foundation, awarded over $1,000 in scholarships, and achieved Gold Stars for the 3rd consecutive year.

My Vice President is my old Knob, Thomas Young, IV, Class of 2002.  Thomas has served our community and his company, Young Office Supply (http://www.youngoffice.us/) well and will be a tremendous asset to our club as we build on the success of the previous years.  Thomas and I will be interchangeable throughout the next year and I look forward to serving the club with him.

The big change this year will be the location.  The meetings this year will be held at in the Main Bar Room at The Poinsett Club (http://poinsettclub.org).  Yes, The Poinsett Club, but do not worry, coat and tie are not required during our meetings.  However, we do ask that everyone wear business casual to the meetings (slacks and collared shirt).  As in the past, the meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of the month, except where otherwise noted for special occasions.  The meetings will start at 5:30 with the speaker starting at 6:00 .

MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM:With our scholarship program growing, it is more and more important that we push for more members.  Membership dues go directly to support the club and our scholarship program which supports The Citadel and our cadets there.  Each year we award a scholarship to a deserving cadet from Greenville thanks to membership dues and donations from Alumni like you.  We have 857 Citadel Alumni in the Greater Greenville area, not including cadets and their families.  If each Citadel Alum joins the club we could raise over $30,000.00 per year!  However we average 80 – 90 every year. During the month of August, Club officers, members, and volunteers will be contacting you for your pledge to join the club.  It is for a good cause and supports your Alma Mater.

CADETS AND CITADEL FAMILIES:  To our families with cadets at the Citadel, we want you to be part of our family as well.   We invite you to join the Club, attend our meetings and events, and become part of the Citadel Family that supports your child at The Citadel.  Provide us with your email contact information and we will include you on our email lists for monthly updates.

Please take a look at the next year’s events.  There are some big meetings, trips, and speakers on the horizon.  Stay tuned through our website at www.greenvillecitadelclub.com.

I look forward to meeting all of you and your families over the next year.  Thanks for all of your support to our Club and The Citadel.  GO DOGS!
